I developed my own game for the arcade cabinet. It truly feels like mine now. Built by me, from the ground up, sparkles, guts, gizmos, and all.
For those of you who have a pinball game that a I ripped on, feel free to download and play my game*, and let the insults fly! Compliments can be mailed to root88@ice.org

*Requires the .NET framework to be installed on your machine.
The controls are the same as the default MAME settings. That means Player 1 controls are Left Ctrl, Left Alt, Space and the arrow keys.
This game also runs on my Xbox 360.

New keyboard and mouse

I finally got the new keyboard ($30 from buy.com) and mouse ($6 from newegg.com).
They match pefectly anf are actually a lot more comfortable to use than my old standard stuff.

More holes

I drilled some holes for buttons to hold the pinball controls, admin buttons and a bigger spinner. It would have been nice to do this a while ago when I built everything else, but there were problems with the drill bit.

The pinball buttons are on the sides of the control panel and are in pairs. One button is for the flipper and the other is for shaking the machine. I was thinking that it would be a great idea if the shake buttons could be mapped to the mouse, so I could give the trackball a whack if I wanted to smack the machine around. It would be fun to actually punch something to move a virtual machine.

The admin buttons are on the top of the machine. The left button is the Esc key to back out of games because it is used to ofter. The right button is the Shazaam button. The Shazaam button is like holding shift or control. With it, you double the number of available buttons. I'm mapping player one's buttons to tab, enter, pause, save game, etc.

As for the spinner, I'm going with the TurboTwist 2. The control panel wood that I bought from Kneival was set up to use a spinner that doesn't have the resolution to play Arkanoid, a definite favorite of mine. I also like that this spinner has a weight and a rubber knob for a sturdier feel.

Looks like the MAME is 95% complete! All 6000+ games are playable. I have even been playing World of Warcraft on it. Here are some pics....

If you look closely, you will see that whatever controls are used in each game light up so you know how to play it. Right now, the machine is using standard PC speakers. The speakers you see in the photos are not connected yet.

Here is my to-do list:

The monitor bevel is jacked, I need to redo that.
Install fluorescent light for behind the marquee (glass on top)
Create artwork for the marquee and have it printed on the glass
Install an amp and subwoofer and connect them to the existing speakers
Install this screen somewhere and show directions for each game on it
Drill holes for pinball buttons on the side and admin buttons on the top (I had to get a new bit)
Install the spinner
Finish designing/coding Rooter's Pinball game
Buy stools
Buy this keyboad
Buy this mouse

I'm going to emulate more than just MAME games in this cabinet.
